An algor...Just a quick comment on machine learning. An algorithm needn't be complex to be considered machine learning. I would absolutely consider linear regression and Markov processes 'machine learning.' Perhaps a more palatable term for old school practitioners would be 'statistical learning', which was actually used by several pioneers in the field including Friedman, Tibshirani and Hastie.
